What is a Recycler
A recycler is a type of two chambered percolator in a water piece that is designed to filter smoke. They are usually found in bongs, but can be made for bubblers also. They are commonly found on oil rigs used for dabbing as well.
How Does A Recycler Work?
While taking a hit, smoke and some of the water go to the first chamber (also called a reservoir), then through a percolator into the second chamber through a separate tube. This is where the smoke in the air bubbles pop and release the smoke. Next, the smoke goes through another tube back to the reservoir chamber. The recycler repeats this process by continuously filtering the smoke back through the percolator and chambers the entire time the user is taking their hit. The smoke is filtered in this manner, until it all passes through the mouthpiece and the user is finished taking their hit.
What Are The Benefits Of A Recycler?
Since a recycler works to filter and “recycle” smoke/ vapor, a recycler gives the user a much cleaner and smoother hit. Recyclers also prevent splashback from bong water, by preventing water from getting into the mouthpiece. Smoke also does not go stale because it has less contact with the air, giving the hit a much nicer flavor. Since the smoke stays in contact with the water for longer, the smoke has time to cool down, which allows for maximum filtration.
